ROSS ELEMENTARY WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Friday September 11th, 2025.
A Message from Your Principal, Mr. Frew
Hello Ross Families,
Here we go! I want to officially welcome everyone to a new school year at Ross Elementary. It has been wonderful seeing our students back in the building and reconnecting with so many familiar faces, while also welcoming new students and families to our Ross community.
The beginning of a school year is always filled with excitement, energy, and a little bit of adjustment as everyone settles into new routines, classrooms, friendships, and expectations. I appreciate the patience, flexibility, and positivity our families have shown as we get everything up and running.
We have a great year ahead of us. Our staff are excited to support our students not only in their learning, but also in helping them feel safe, connected, confident, and proud to be part of Ross.
As always, please reach out if you have questions, concerns, or simply want to connect. My door is open, and I look forward to working alongside all of you this year.
Small school. Big heart. Here we go! 🐯
CLASS LISTS/CONFIGURATIONS
Class configurations have been set for the school year.
If you do not receive an email from the teacher, the class lists will be posted out front on Monday. Please do not share this on social media.
I have received and read a number of emails regarding class placements and have considered the concerns and requests shared with me. With only six divisions at Ross, there is limited flexibility, and even one change can have a ripple effect across several classrooms. Our staff has worked carefully to create balanced classes while considering class size and composition, academic and learning needs, social-emotional needs, peer relationships, and student supports.
I have also heard concerns about students having the same teacher for multiple years. While we consider this, having the same teacher again is not, on its own, a reason to change a placement. Continuity can also provide benefits through established relationships and a strong understanding of a student’s learning needs.
Similarly, placements are not based solely on academic ability or preference for a particular teacher. Our teachers work collaboratively and differentiate instruction to support the range of learners in their classrooms.
Please know that we genuinely care about getting this right for our students. While we cannot accommodate every request, our goal is the same as yours: for every Ross student to feel safe, connected, supported, and successful.
Thank you for your trust, understanding, and continued support of our Ross community.
