Message to community:

The first week of school we were able to work on a sense of belonging by connecting the older students to the younger students through multiage groups. We worked on our school values and the core competencies of our BC Curriculum. At Ross, we are HEROIC, which means:

H- Healthy Choices   E – Eager to Learn  R – Responsible  O – Owner of My Behaviour
 I – Individual Success   C – Communication Skills

We spent the week learning about these core values.

On Monday September 8th, class lists will be posted on the front windows of the school. Please take your child to the assigned room outside. For the safety and privacy of our students, we kindly ask that families do not take photos of these lists or share them on social media. Families can expect to receive communication from their child’s teacher within a few days following the posting.

Parking

If you are driving your child to school, please park on the street and walk to get your child. If you are dropping off using the bus lane, please be aware that the bus arrives 8:45am and you need to be quick about the kids getting out of the car. If you drop off in the lane closest to the road, please have them exit onto the grass and use the cross walk to cross the street. Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the bus lane.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent please use the Safe Arrival which can be found on the Ross website - https://ross.abbyschools.ca/safe-arrival . If they are late, please come and check in at the office. If you are not going to be riding the bus, please also let us know that you are picking up your child. Our phone number is 604-856-6079.
