Message to community:

I hope this message finds you well as you get ready for Thanksgiving weekend. This is my favourite holiday as it brings family together to eat yummy food and give thanks for the harvests and Canada.

Parent Teacher Interviews

I am writing to inform you that our Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on October 23rd and 24th. This is a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher, share important information, and set goals to support your child’s success. We believe that collaboration between parents and teachers is key to fostering a positive and productive learning environment. To facilitate the scheduling of these interviews, we will be sending out a registration link on Tuesday, October 15th. Please keep an eye on your email for this link and register at your earliest convenience.

PAC

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help with hot lunch. Your support is greatly appreciated and makes a significant difference in our school community. Additionally, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is hosting a Movie Night next Friday. This promises to be a fun family event, and we encourage you to attend with your children. Please note that parents are required to stay with their child(ren) during the event.

Learning

As I walked around the building this week, I was delighted to see the strong buddy connections being made. Our buddy classes are doing a fantastic job of creating a sense of belonging and safety for our younger students. For example, Division 1 and 7 created turkeys together, and Division 2 and 6 enjoyed some playtime learning to take turns. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events.

Parking

If you are driving your child to school, please park on the street and walk to get your child.  If you are dropping off using the bus lane, please be aware that the bus arrives 8:45am and you need to be quick about the kids getting out of the car. If you drop off in the lane closest to the road, please have them exit onto the grass and use the cross walk to cross the street.  Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the bus lane.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is already growing. If you are able to label your child’s clothes, we do our very best to get any clothes left on the playground back to them. We will put out our Lost and Found every Friday, so please come and have look.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent please use the Safe Arrival which can be found on the Ross website - https://ross.abbyschools.ca/safe-arrival  . If they are late, please come and check in at the office. If you are not going to be riding the bus, please also let us know that you are picking up your child.  Our phone number is 604-856-6079.
