A Message from Your Principal, Mr. Frew

We are loving it here at Ross! The sun has made a few welcome appearances lately, and you can feel the energy and excitement around our school. Grade 4/5 co-ed handball is now underway, and it has been wonderful to see students supporting one another, building skills, and having fun together.

This week, our district recognized Black Excellence Day in BC, and several classes engaged with a district-sponsored video and meaningful classroom conversations. These learning moments help strengthen our shared commitment to equity, respect, and understanding.

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Lunar New Year, Pink Shirt Day, and Vaisakhi in the coming weeks and months. If your family is connected to any of these celebrations and would like to be involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our school team or our PAC. We truly value family and community partnerships in helping make these moments meaningful for our students.

Thank you, as always, for being such a supportive and engaged Ross community.

Reminders

Parking

If you are driving your child to school, please park on the street and walk to get your child. If you are dropping off using the bus lane, please be aware that the bus arrives 8:45am and you need to be quick about the kids getting out of the car. If you drop off in the lane closest to the road, please have them exit onto the grass and use the crosswalk to cross the street. Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the bus lane.

Absences

If your child is going to be absent please use the Safe Arrival which can be found on the Ross website - https://ross.abbyschools.ca/safe-arrival . If they are late, please come and check in at the office. If you are not going to be riding the bus, please also let us know that you are picking up your child. Our phone number is 604-856-6079.
