Message to community:
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to thank the parents for attending our Vaisakhi assembly. Your presence made the event truly special and memorable for our students. They love having their parents in the building. Please see pictures below.
A special thank you goes out to our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for their incredible efforts in organizing the henna and samosas. The samosas, generously donated by Gian's Express, were a delightful treat that added to the festive atmosphere. We are deeply appreciative of their support and generosity.
Our students put a tremendous amount of time and effort into preparing for this assembly, and they were incredibly proud to showcase their hard work. It was wonderful to see them proud of their identity and celebrating who they are. They don’t often get a chance to practice their speaking skills in front of an audience. Your encouragement and applause meant the world to them.
Thank you once again for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we create a nurturing and vibrant environment for our children to learn and grow.
Learning
Division 4 has been very busy recently! They have delved into the wonders of the Arctic, exploring the fascinating animals that inhabit this unique environment. The students have also learned about the Indigenous peoples who have lived in the Arctic for centuries, gaining insight into how their way of life has adapted to the harsh climate.
In addition to their Arctic studies, Division 4 has been learning about our amazing country. They have explored the provinces and territories, discovering the diverse cities, bodies of water, and famous landmarks that make Canada so special. The students' enthusiasm and curiosity have been truly inspiring as they continue to learn and grow.
Division 3 dedicated a significant amount of time to studying landforms. Each student crafted their own three-dimensional model, thoughtfully planning and adding intricate details. Hands-on learning and the opportunity to create truly resonate with kids, making this an engaging and enjoyable experience for them.

Parking
If you are driving your child to school, please park on the street and walk to get your child. If you are dropping off using the bus lane, please be aware that the bus arrives at 8:45am and you need to be quick about the kids getting out of the car. If you drop off in the lane closest to the road, please have them exit onto the grass and use the crosswalk to cross the street. Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the bus lane.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is already growing. If you are able to label your child’s clothes, we do our very best to get any clothes left on the playground back to them. We will put out our Lost and Found every Friday, so please come and have look.
Absences
If your child is going to be absent, please use the Safe Arrival which can be found on the Ross website - https://ross.abbyschools.ca/safe-arrival . If they are late, please come and check in at the office. If you are not going to be riding the bus, please also let us know that you are picking up your child. Our phone number is 604-856-6079.
